Monroe County Legislator Mary Valerio today announced her candidacy for re-election to the 3rd Legislative District, which includes most of the Town of Chili. Mary was first elected to the Legislature in January of 2004, and has been re-elected for three additional terms. In addition to her legislative duties, Mary has dedicated her professional career to teaching Spanish, providing a profound insight for her role as Chair of the Recreation and Education Committee of the Monroe County Legislature.
“I am pleased to announce that I am seeking re-election to the Monroe County Legislature. It is important for me to continue advocating for the citizens of Chili,” said Valerio. “As a legislator, I have partnered with County Executive Maggie Brooks to deliver stable property taxes and solid job creation and retention efforts that are moving our economy in the right direction. With the support of my friends, neighbors and fellow residents in the Town of Chili, I will continue the fight to protect local taxpayers.”

Mary has served on several district and school-based committees as well as civic and community organizations. These collaborative experiences will continue to serve her well in the Legislature.
